# Create an Item

There are two ways to create items in a project:

* To create an item in the **root** (the project’s top level), click the **plus (+) button** in the Project Panel.
* To create a **nested item**, click the **plus (+) button** on the parent folder.

  Documents cannot contain nested documents. Only folders support child items.
